Convert SWEREF99 TM to WGS84
Upload a KML, GPX, GeoJSON or CSV file with SWEREF99 TM coordinates and download WGS84.
SWEREF99 TM (EPSG:3006) is Sweden's national coordinate system, used by Lantmäteriet (the Swedish mapping agency), municipalities, county boards and many GIS systems. WGS84 (EPSG:4326) is the global standard used by Google Maps, GPS devices and web mapping APIs.
The tool automatically identifies the coordinate system in uploaded files. If you know the file is in SWEREF99 TM, select it manually to ensure correct conversion.
Typical SWEREF99 TM coordinates: N 6 580 000, E 320 000 (central Sweden). These look completely different from WGS84 latitude/longitude (approx. 59.3°N, 18.1°E).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is SWEREF99 TM?
SWEREF99 TM (EPSG:3006) is Sweden's national projected coordinate system. It is a Transverse Mercator projection with metre-based coordinates, designed to cover the whole country. It replaced RT90 as the standard system between 2003 and 2008.
How do I recognise SWEREF99 TM coordinates?
SWEREF99 TM coordinates have northing (N) values around 6,100,000–7,700,000 and easting (E) values around 260,000–920,000. If your coordinates are in that range, they are likely in SWEREF99 TM.
Are the local SWEREF99 zones (12 00, 13 30 etc.) supported?
Yes. Select the correct zone from the "Source coordinate system" list. All local zones (SWEREF99 12 00 through SWEREF99 23 15) are fully supported.
What happens if I select the wrong coordinate system?
If you select the wrong source system, the converted coordinates will be placed in the wrong location on the map. Always choose "Auto" if unsure, or check the metadata in your original file.
