Frequently Asked Questions

Which coordinate systems are supported?

The tool supports WGS84 (GPS coordinates), SWEREF99 TM (Sweden's official system since 2007) and RT90 2.5 gon V (older Swedish system). All conversions use exact EPSG parameters.

How accurate are the conversions?

Conversions follow EPSG standards with centimeter accuracy. For RT90, a 7-parameter Helmert transformation between Bessel and WGS84 is used.

Can I import from Excel?

Yes, export your Excel file as CSV (semicolon-separated) and import it in the batch tab. Coordinates should be in two columns.

What is the difference between SWEREF99 and RT90?

SWEREF99 TM is Sweden's official reference system since 2007, based on WGS84/GRS80. RT90 is the older system (1990-2007) based on the Bessel ellipsoid. They differ by 100-600 meters.

How does address lookup work?

Addresses are fetched via OpenStreetMap Nominatim. The service is limited to 1 request per second.

How do I share coordinates easily?

Copy the result and use the URL shortener to create a shareable link. You can also create a QR code with the coordinates for easy scanning.

Can I use the coordinates for testing?

Yes, export to CSV or JSON and use in your tests. Need complete test data with addresses and personal IDs? Try the test data generator.
