Your guitar stays on your device. This page explains what Fabbe stores, where it is stored and how you remove it.
Without an account
You do not need an account to use Fabbe. Without one, your settings, practice history and your own exercises are stored only in your browser, using localStorage and IndexedDB. None of it is sent to a server.
Microphone audio is processed locally in the browser. Fabbe does not record audio and does not send audio anywhere. The microphone is used only when you start a tool that needs it, and the browser then shows that it is active.
Files you open, such as tab files, are read locally and are not uploaded unless you choose to save them to an account.
Visitor statistics
On mackan.eu, Fabbe counts visits with Matomo to see which tools are used. Matomo runs on our own server, stats.mackan.eu, and sets no cookies. We measure page views and coarse events, such as a tool being started. We do not build profiles of individual visitors.
We never send file names, file contents, audio or anything else you have created. If your browser sends the Do Not Track signal, we measure nothing. Measurement is switched off locally and during development.
No third-party scripts
Fabbe loads no scripts, fonts or images from third parties. The only external address is our own statistics service.
If you create an account
An account is optional. When you create one, the following is stored:
- Email address and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text.
- A display name, if you provide one.
- What you choose to sync: settings, practice history, personal bests, your own riffs and files you upload.
- A session cookie that keeps you logged in. It is needed for login and is not used for statistics.
The email address is used only to verify the account and reset the password. We send no newsletters and no advertising. We do not ask for date of birth, address or gender.
Consent and age
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We process your data based on your consent when you create the account. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the account.
Feedback
The feedback form sends the type of report, the tool, the page you sent it from, the language and your message. No IP address is stored. If you are logged in, the message is linked to your account and deleted with it, otherwise it is anonymous. Do not write personal data in the message. The number of messages is limited to stop spam.
Suspension from Community
If a moderator suspends your account from publishing in Community, we store a check value of your email address. The value is calculated with a secret key and cannot be turned back into the address. The address itself is not stored in that list.
The purpose is to protect Community from abuse: a suspension should not be avoidable by deleting the account and creating a new one with the same address. An account with an address on the list works as usual but cannot publish. We process the value on the basis of legitimate interest.
The check value is kept for 12 months from the suspension, or from the deletion if you delete the account while the suspension applies. It is then removed automatically. If the suspension is lifted, the value is removed at once. If you think the suspension is wrong, contact us through the feedback page.
Your rights
You can export all data linked to your account and delete the account at any time. Deletion removes the account and everything stored on it, with the exception described under Suspension from Community. Data that exists only locally is removed by clearing site data in your browser.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct and erase your data. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
